The 5:00 AM challenge (13/30)

Good morning! Hope you had a great start to the week! I took a couple of days off from the 5:00 AM challenge but now I’m back. It’s 5:30 as I write this and I got up at 5:00 AM this morning.

… I actually woke up a couple of minutes before 5:00 AM today because I think something hit my bedroom window. It was too small to a bird; it may have been a twig or something but it jolted me awake. So I gathered myself together and got out of bed and started my day.

Truth be told, I was tired. Having taken the last few days off, my brain is a little groggy and maybe still a bit in vacation mode. But I’m pushing through and attacking my day.

In his book Awaken The Giant Within, Tony Robbins talks about building references for the change you want to make in your life. One of the changes in my life, of course, is getting up earlier — and not just getting up earlier but getting productive earlier. In my mind, one of the most effective references is a real positive experience in the past of having achieved it. So each day that I get up at 5:00 AM is a day that builds that reference and contributes to my belief that “I can get up at 5:00 AM”… because I have so often in the past.

Well, I’m ready to go and eager to blast through my action list for the day so I’ll sign off.

Stay productive!
