I’ve got quite a variety of reading today… and these are all topics I absolutely love thinking about. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
- How I Increased My Search Engine Traffic by 13.15% in Just 30 Days Through Google’s In-Depth Articles. In this post, blogger Neil Patel gives us a case study about how he used in-depth articles to drive more traffic to his site. These in-depth articles are something that QuickSprout does really well so I’m not surprised he’s seen results. Are there opportunities for you to create more in-depth articles on your blog?
- Productivity down the drain? Maximize your willpower for complete success. I’ve been thinking a lot about willpower, ever since I read Kelly McGonigal’s book The Willpower Instinct (read more about it in my blog post 10 business books that changed my life). I believe willpower is THE missing link between failure and success in nearly everything in life. You should read this article for a quick introduction and some tools to improve your willpower.
- Why it’s important your content, your blog, and your business change over time. Change can be hard but in this blog post we read about how your business can (and should!) change. Entrepreneurs can often be tempted to look for stasis when, instead, they should be willing to push the boundaries to growth. Read this article and consider how your business can change for the better.
- How to acquire any new skill in 20 hours or less. Malcolm Gladwell made the “10,000 hours” expertise requirement famous — and dashed the hopes of anyone who wanted to become an expert in less time. But Josh Kaufman says you can acquire any new skill in 20 hours or less, and even suggests that you can gain a level of expertise in it. As someone who loves to learn, I love his approach and it inspires me to learn even more. (You should also check out the video presentation Kaufman gives to Google, over at The Personal MBA.)
