In 20 days, the 2010 Winter Olympic athletes will compete to be the best in the world. Entrepreneurs compete for a similar pinnacle of success every single day. This series of blogs will countdown to the Olympics with 31 ideas about what it takes to achieve gold in your business.

To be an Olympic-level entrepreneur, you need to be single-minded while competing.

One of my favorite parts about watching the Olympics is seeing the level of focus each competitor has just before competing. They are in the zone. They are as fully prepared as they can possibly be. There is nothing for them to do but wait their turn, stay mentally sharp, and trust the years of preparation.

Olympic-level entrepreneurs know this, too. They are single-minded. They are focused. They work hard. They avoid multitasking when it matters. They wake up each morning with that same level of intense focus that an athlete feels prior to competing.
